Industry Leading Security Features
Messages are stored on Proton Mail servers using end-to-end encryption at all times and are transmitted securely between Proton servers and user devices. This largely eliminates the risk of message interception.

Zero Access to Your Email Content
Proton Mail's zero access architecture means that your data is encrypted in a way that makes it inaccessible to us. Data is encrypted on the client side using an encryption key that Proton does not have access to. This means we don't have the technical ability to decrypt your messages.

Open-Source Cryptography

The UI needs some improvements. A bar at the bottom containing shortcuts to the side pane folders/labels menu, emails, calendars and contacts would improve usability a lot. Contacts are still not editable in the app. The search button could be brought to the bottom for easier access. There is a filter for unread emails only on the top. How could additional filters be added/used (by folder or label for example without reapching for the side pane)?

I paid for a subscription a while back and only then discovered that you can't search for text in the body of your email. The only exception is through the web interface but then you'll have to download a copy of all your emails for each machine you want to search from. Basically close to useless if you rely on seach to find your emails. How hard can it be to make an encrypted index on the server side? The emails are already encrypted and accessible from any client. Their VPN is brilliant though

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other users, the new update is AWFUL! When I click delete on a notification it doesn't delete the email from the inbox, the app "can't retrieve email" unless I click refresh a few times, it's very slow,... I had absolutely no issues with the previous version. This new update brings a terrible user experience. Checking my emails is a real hassle, it shouldn't be. Edit : The support (contacted via the app) was quick to respond and found a solution
