The Barclays app

HOW TO REGISTER
If you’re 16 or over and you have a UK-registered mobile number and a UK Barclays current account or Barclaycard, you can register for the app. You’ll need the 16 digit number off your card, then follow the onscreen instructions. Some customers may be required to verify their identity with PINsentry or at a Barclays cash machine.

If you’ve got an activation code, follow the onscreen steps to register (you won’t need PINsentry for this).

After you’re set up, you’ll only need your 5-digit passcode to log in. Then you can set up Android Fingerprint to log in faster in future.

This app doesn’t work on rooted devices.

THE BENEFITS
•Log in quickly and securely when you set up access through Android Fingerprint
•Manage your personal and business accounts, and view your Barclays mortgage account, as well as managing your personal Barclaycard accounts
•See recent transactions and check your balances
•Transfer funds between accounts
•Make payments to people you’ve paid before and people in your payee list
•Upload, sort and store your important documents securely with Barclays Cloud It. Just use your camera to take photos of documents you want to store
•Find your nearest branch or cash machine
•Log into Online Banking more easily using Mobile PINsentry. So we can complete some security checks, it can take up to 4 days for Mobile PINsentry to be activated in the app
•Call our customer services team direct from the app to speak to an advisor
•Manage your Barclays personal and business accounts with 1 secure log-in

FOR BUSINESS ACCOUNTS
You can only use the app if you’re a sole-signatory Barclays Business current account holder. You can’t register your Barclaycard business or corporate credit cards.

This app is provided by either Barclays Bank UK PLC or Barclays Bank PLC depending on the entity you may have contracted with for banking services. Please refer to your bank documents (terms and conditions, statements, etc.) to confirm the legal entity that provides banking services to you.

Occasionally unable to log in which can be really frustrating. When you finally manage to log in it says 'we fixed our app' which is just a blatant lie! New version is a little better but still unstable. Worst thing with the new app is the ad right in the middle of the screen. You remove it because it's not what you want and you'll never take the offer but it will never go away. And that at the bottom asking if you're getting the most out of the app, yes I am, I only use it to transfer money!

Very easy to use and keep track of your accounts. The only downside is the facility to pay in cheques, which is absolutely rubbish! The part where you take a photo just will not work. Not only on my phone as well, BTW, it won't work on my wife's either. I also bank with another company (sounds like darling but with an St), and their system is brilliant. It works first time every time. Sort it out please Barclays it's really really frustrating!!

Poorly designed. 1. Reporting transactions NEVER works in the app. 2. Deeply lacking in essential features compared to online banks. 3. No emails, no notifications on transactions for better security. 4. Doesn't allow you to be in charge of your account, freeze card. 5. Constantly asks for a pin even if you use fingerprints. What's the point with the fingerprints then?? 6. When you call from within the app, it doesn't work, and you have to go through the whole manual process. Etc., etc.
