The app used to work great until I suddenly quit getting notifications. Nothing on my end was changed, and they just quit working. It's very annoying. Judging by the numerous complaints that are similar on here, I am not the only one. Update: The information they gave me below worked after a few attempts. I'm still not sure why an update changed my settings, but my problem did get fixed.

I loved this app until they recently took away Compact View. Of all the places I need information to be displayed in a compact fashion, my phone is the place where I need it most! What were you thinking, Google??? Took away another star. Now there's no setting for changing the action of swiping! Either way I swipe, it gets archived! And there is NOTHING in the settings to change it. Nor is there any way to change the view to compact. It's just NOT THERE.

I have gmail App on my fire tablet. It has some old email accounts. I am unable to delete these. Within the app there is 'Manage accounts' but it does nothing. UNder settings > accounts it shows old email accounts. when I highlight one of these, there is no option to delete it. I have the latest Gmail App for android but it is not working as it should. i do not want to delete the App and reinstall because then I'll have to enter several current email credentials again. Strange
