Ratings and reviews

YouTube Music is great in some ways but could be better. Pros: Recommendations are good and I've discovered a lot of songs and artists that I like. Cons: The "year in review" was just not as good as Spotify's; the Speed Dial/Quick Picks features will include songs/artists I've listened to ONCE instead of my favorite ones that I keep on repeat, making it inaccurate. Suggestions: Making the app more customizable, e.g. custom colors and home page, would set the it apart and improve the aesthetic.

Algorithm sucks. You got rid of a perfectly good service with Google Play music. I can't ever search for something without it playing a random playlist instead of the actual album I'm requesting. It took me four tries just to get it to play a movie soundtrack because it said oh. "Here's a playlist" instead of the actual soundtrack. This whole app sucks **Edit 2025** STILL TERRIBLE!! it's actually gotten worse and only plays 20 songs then is like "ok that's it, no more songs for you!"

Edit: Updated review in 2025, they have significantly improved the app. I am a lot happier nowadays, it isn't perfect but it's gotten a lot better. It's still not better than Google Play Music they forced us to leave but it's come so far. 2022: Needs work but still use it over others. Could whip up a list of necessary improvements it needs to make in 10 minutes. Needs to at least match feature parity with Google Play Music. Many great features are still missing
