The Nintendo Switch Online app enhances your online gameplay experience on your Nintendo Switch™ system. With this app, you can access game-specific services, view your online friends, and use voice chat during online play—all of which allow you to get even more out of online play.

◆ View your online friends
You can see which of your friends are online from your smartphone—and which games they're playing. You can even send friend requests right from the app!

Note: Some friend features, like adding friends, can only be accessed from a Nintendo Switch system.

◆ Use voice chat during online play
From this app, you can join in on voice chat while playing supported software online. By using the app, your voice-chat status will be automatically synced with the game status—and in games that support team battles, like Splatoon 3, you can choose to chat with just the players who are on your team.

Ratings and reviews

It does what it has to. The only real problem with this app is that it's underutilized. Aside from Splatnet 3, the app doesn't have that much purpose for me. So if you don't have Splatoon 3 or 2, or just aren't into voice calls on an inferior level to... anything else... I don't recommend the app.

The animal crossing nooklink app thing keeps freezing, then it can't be opened again (it just stays on the loading screen). I've tried closing/restarting the app and even restarting my phone. The only thing that fixes it is uninstalling and reinstalling the entire Nintendo app, but this only allows me to use the app for a minute or two before it happens again. Very annoying; makes this app useless for me.

App is great while it works but it CONSTANTLY crashes randomly. Really love it while the app it works but I can't tell you how many times I've uninstalled/reinstalled this app, sometimes multiple times in the same day. Just unacceptable. Awesome to have access the catalog--makes playing SO much easier. NookLink items are fantastic. Wish I could access DIY catalog too. Turnip prices are handy. Newsletter is adorable. PLEASE FIX THIS GLITCH!!! Ty!
