About this app

Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in. This means that in addition to your password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone. The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone, even if you don't have a network or cellular connection.
* Sync your Authenticator codes to your Google Account and across your devices. This way, you can always access them even if you lose your phone.
* Set up your Authenticator accounts automatically with a QR code. This is quick and easy, and it helps to ensure that your codes are set up correctly.
* Support for multiple accounts. You can use the Authenticator app to manage multiple accounts, so you don't have to switch between apps every time you need to sign in.
* Support for time-based and counter-based code generation. You can choose the type of code generation that best suits your needs.
* Transfer accounts between devices with a QR code. This is a convenient way to move your accounts to a new device.
* To use Google Authenticator with Google, you need to enable 2-Step Verification on your Google Account. To get started visit http://www.google.com/2step Permission notice: Camera: Needed to add accounts using QR codes

A bare bones 2FA app that lacks many features other apps have like: folders/tags, account/notes field, icons, viewing the secret key for a code and also having the ability to export keys via a file (something that is very important to have for local backups) which they don't implement to make it difficult to leave them. I wouldn't recommend.

The app used to work perfectly. In the last month, the codes can't be used unless I get them within the first quarter of the expiry circle. Very annoying. Help articles point to the settings screen to choose sync... that option doesn't exist. My phone date and time is already synced. As I say ... very annoying as I have to sit waiting to a new code all the time. Big time waste.

It's good, but risky! Hey, how can you back up those extra accounts, but still let us delete them with a quick swipe—no confirmation needed—and have a way to turn off that swipe? I've almost deleted stuff so many times, but luckily caught it. But not this last time—I lost an account and can't even find out which one it was. That's not secure; it's a major flaw. If I'd known, I wouldn't have used this app. Switching now is a real hassle, though.
