If you opt in to the Gemini app, it will replace your Google Assistant as the primary assistant on the phone. Some Google Assistant voice features aren't available through the Gemini app yet. You can switch back to Google Assistant in settings.

Ratings and reviews

I've found it more useful than both Claude and ChatGPT. Fast and mostly accurate, it's very good for many tasks- finding information that cannot be easily found on a web search, summarising content, analysing images, and generating images and likely many other things I have not used it for. It doesn't seem to do a good job of taking your previous conversations into context, and it also compliments you too much, but it's still better than other AI's I've tried.

It's my go to AI but it has it's issues. I have pro but I get 3 or 4 short videos at time before I hit limits which I feel is way too tight. the schedules stopped working a while back. It struggles to remember long conversations and as others have said it crashes quite a bit. I feel the pc version/browser is a lot better though. they really need to work on the app. Can't use voice chat as like others hard to keep a conversation going when it thinks I've finished talking but I haven't.

There are a lot of things that it does well. But it can't get simple facts correct and makes up things without checking. Eg. I asked what stylus/pen will work with my Lenovo table. Twice it said a Surface Pen 1776 would work and it didn't. Then I asked it to recommend washer-dryers and it continued to tell me wrong information until I asked for the link to buy it. I don't get why it is getting simple things wrong. I don't think I'll be using AI as much as I have been.
