About this app

Classroom makes it easy for learners and instructors to connect—inside and outside of schools. Classroom saves time and paper, and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate, and stay organized.

There are many benefits to using Classroom:
• Easy to set up – Teachers can add students directly or share a code with their class to join. It takes just minutes to set up.
• Saves time – The simple, paperless assignment workflow allows teachers to create, review and mark assignments quickly, all in one place.
• Improves organization – Students can see all of their assignments on an assignments page, and all class materials (e.g., documents, photos, and videos) are automatically filed into folders in Google Drive.
• Enhances communication – Classroom allows teachers to send announcements and start class discussions instantly. Students can share resources with each other or provide answers to questions on the stream.
• Secure – Like the rest of Google Workspace for Education services, Classroom contains no ads, never uses your content or student data for advertising purposes.


Permissions Notice:
Camera: Needed to allow the user to take photos or videos and post them to Classroom.
Storage: Needed to allow the user to attach photos, videos, and local files to Classroom. It's also needed to enable offline support.
Accounts: Needed to allow the user to choose which account to use in Classroom.

Hangs a lot on Android 12 for no apparent reason. Terrible experience. Edit: thank you for your quick response. Unfortunately, none of those tips proved useful. Snapdragon 720G is an adequate chip but let's face it: optimization for the latest Android is rather disappointing. Other Google apps run flawlessly FYI. Edit2: It's blindingly obvious the root cause of choppiness hasn't been addressed. Couldn't help but uninstall the updated app right away.

In settings there is a setting to turn on off notifications, it was turned on for the whole time, and I got the notifications in Spring, but now in Autumn I get nothing while things happen. I miss so many things without notifications! Why do you even put a notifications setting into an app that doesnt even send notifications from now on.

There are some quality of life improvements I'd like to see implemented, so that it's easier to differentiate classes at a glance. Currently it's not possible to change the picture or name of a given class on the user-side, meaning if multiple teachers use weird naming schemes and the same picture it can take a moment to navigate to the correct class. I'd suggest a renamed class shows it's user-side name in place of the original name, while the original name moves below it in a smaller font.
