MilesMyWay

Take control of what you pay with MilesMyWay!

If you’re a low mileage driver or have an extra vehicle that isn’t driven often, this app could help you save on what you pay for insurance.

MilesMyWay is a way for you to earn savings based on how much, or in this case how little, you drive. The app records your mileage, displays how many miles you’ve driven, and gives you an idea of how much savings you’re on track to earn.

Sign up for the MilesMyWay program through your local American Family agent to receive an invite to download and use the app at no cost. We’ll also mail you a MilesMyWay sensor to place in your car.

Ratings and reviews

This app is garbage. The algorithm that assigns passenger or driver does not work, even after 4 months of assigning my trips manually. The hard braking detection is too sensitive. My speeding, hard braking, and phone use subscores are all 95+, my two week overall score is 100, yet my overall score is only 77. It is impossible to improve your overall score which is directly tied to your insurance premiums. The app gives no feedback on ways to improve your driving score. This is criminal.

Worse than the other app. I'm constantly getting hit with hard breaking when I'm not hard breaking! One time, I got hit with hard breaking and never touched my breaks because I was going so slow through a roundabout. Today was slowing down well before a 4 way stop. No traffic front or back. No sudden or hard breaking. The only time it doesn't show hard breaking is if you coast or doing 25 and slow to a crawl. Constantly hit for driving when I'm actually a passenger. Just awful.

First Impressions of day 1 not a great app. Looking at the data you get from making a single trip the scoring system needs re-tuning. Currently the app assumes your location data is perfect when in reality this is not the case, there will be jumps in tracking and sudden pauses when it lags behind. This app not only punishes that with misinterpretations of a "Hard Brake" but severely drops your score by 2 out of 5 stars just by having 1 Hard Brake; just 1 single brake.
