My experience with American has not been terrible, but this app is GARBAGE. It is completely useless... In fact, it will actually make it more difficult for you, because it will confuse you. The information it provides is not accurate whatsoever, notifications are sent late, and flight statuses are wrong. I was tracking my flight through it and I missed it. The people at the counter were helpful though.

Worst, just like American Airlines customer service as a whole. Every single time, and I promise myself this will be the LAST, can't load boarding passes. Actually have to log out and log back in, voila! There they are. Can't check flight status or change flights, while you ARE LOGGED IN without answering what flight, confirmation number, security questions, etc. Absolutely the most annoying, frustrating lack of customer support/care in the entire industry.

Poor app for the traveler Apps for airlines should be simple and straightforward. This app fails at most tasks. Trying to confirm a passport with camera scan often doesn't work. Trying to add checked bags for a trip results in having to start all over, only to fail again. I ended up having to go online via my laptop to accomplish the task. On more than one occasion gate information was wrong.
