Connect to the hunt with the Alpha® LTE dog tracker, using cellular technology (subscription required). Use your smartphone to track your dog’s movements with the Alpha® app. Connect your Alpha LTE tracking system to a compatible Garmin VHF dog tracking system (sold separately) to leverage either LTE or VHF tracking signals. Use the Alpha app to navigate and mark waypoints with integrated mapping.
Garmin Alpha needs SMS permission to allow you to receive and send SMS text messages from your Garmin devices. We also need call log permission to display incoming calls on your devices.

The tracker works good. The app sucks. drops the tracker, does not connect. Will not stop beeping. and yes I let customer support know. If you want to call them that. I expected so much more from a garmin tracker. I am updated to the latest version. I have it to auto update. Of course I keep checking the bluetooth and celluar and it defaults back to just one or the other, but not both. I bought this to keep track of my dog on my acres. To protect her. Everytime it drops her I panic.

I've had the device and software about three months. My Android Alpha app has consistent problems in communication via Bluetooth. The device settings cannot be transmitted to the device. The Bluetooth pairing is inconsistent. The link to "online support" has never worked. The app works fine on my wife's iPhone. The support personnel described how it worked on their iPhone but had no experience with Android. Very poor experience.

it is constantly closing while trying to download maps. got it to connect to my alpha but it won't work with it. major problems. do better. we pay so much for your products, we expect stuff to work properly edit: still junk. map is a fraction better. it is still not even close to what the explore app was. how can there be such a difference?
