Very inconsistent experience. Yes, I get to talk with my girlfriend while she's hiking the Appalachian Trail, but it becomes difficult when the app does not send me notifications on time (if at all), and additionally becomes more inefficient when my messages are sent out of order when successfully gaining connection to the Garmin device that she has. But, at least it's something.

I sold my Garmin mini because it was very unintuitive and confusing for the occasional user. One time, it was my familiarity with the landmarks around me that was more helpful to my navigation than the GPS. If I was a more frequent user, it might be ok. I'm going to use Onx maps instead...and satellite emergency feature if needed.

Garmin has done their best to make this app and the InReach as user unfriendly as possible. I keep having to "verify my phone number to keep using the app." Yet Garmin still feels good enough about it to take my money each month. I've had to "verify" two months in a row now, on two different trips. Funny thing is I'm off-grid and can't verify the number! But, sure enough, Garmin charges me. This process has to be simpler.
