So Far So Very Good! It has now been two years since I switched to Geico and continue to be nothing but impressed! Their rates are as low as I've found and their customer service is outstanding. The Geico app is easily navigable, and has just the right balance of information and tools. For instance the app has copies of your insurance ID cards in the event you can't find the original. They, also, seem to proactively go out of their way to find any discount that will lower your premium whether you're a new or existing customer.
So far, it seems really good. I am a new Geico customer, just now starting. With that said, the app and website seem great thus far. I am coming from bad experiences with State Farm. I never was told if State Farm had an app but their website sucks. Geico told me about this app and employees kept recommending I try it. So far, so good and the app looks very simple to use & navigate.
Great in presentation. Nothing to deliver I sit here and I have requested roadside assistance three times. First time I got they are 20 minutes away. Second time I got a different operator that accused me of a crank call. The third was the same operator from the crank call actually doing his job but was full of $h!t when he was reporting help nearby. So I say, actually have a proper assistance network before you sell it.
Contact Information? Why do you need to have an access to phone's contact information? I have already provided my contact information in the app. Having an access to the contact information on the phone means information about the people of all my contacts. I don't think you need that. Narrow the permission request to the absolute minimum. And stop begging for this permission every time the app starts. It is annoying I have to deny every time.
Buggy and Confusing I like having an app where I can manage my policy, make claims and pay my bill. This app is very convenient that way. However, I went to enter a new card for payment and it told showed me an error message saying the amount I selected is invalid. The amount is a radio button. How can that be invalid? And it made me reenter my card details a few times.
Time consuming & glitchy It just took me over an hour to report glass damage and schedule an appointment. App is slow and glitchy, and had to start over SEVERAL times. Would have been easier to just do this over the phone, but the automated message made me go to the app. Frustrated!!!
