Izettl Great app. Easy to use, necessary if you have a small business and want to accept charges. Only draw back is if you're alone & you're busy it takes time to complete the transaction
Card reader lite no longer works Card reader lite on Samsung Galaxy S3 previously worked perfectly. Now with new 3.0 app it no longer works. I thought it was faulty but checked on a Samsung Note 3 running the old app and its definitely not the card reader.
I have a Sony smartphone and every time l update it loses the izettle icon off my desk top, any ideas izettle as to how l can keep it there, as l now have to Google the app every time l want to use it.
I had some problems getting version 3.0.0 to work on Android 5.0. It does work; it works contactless and it's a much cleaner user interface to 2.5.1. All you wanted! And I really like iZettle as a company - they've been fantastic. I don't like most banks very much. If you're a small business, switch to iZettle and stop being fleeced for card payments. Now - the trick to getting 3.0.0 to work on Android 5.0 and the Card Reader Pro is to make sure you start the reader first, and get it past the "Please Wait..." message before you start the App, or (I think) start the card reader after the App has been started. Don't start them together because if you get the timing wrong, bad things happen. I'm talking to iZettle about these teething problems and there'll probably be a 3.0.1 along in due course. Version 2.5.1 wasn't so sensitive about timing , but it wouldn't do contactless and the UI was, well, ugly and confusing. Incidentally, if you're using Android, get the Bluetooth Card Reader Pro if you're serious about card payments. The low cost/free reader is pretty selective about what Android hardware it'll work with - iZettle publishes a list.
From 5 stars to 1...why do I need to add a product to accept payment. I'm a taxi driver. New update requires that I put product in and choose VAT figure. What's happened? Reply from iZettle states I go to "custom amount" to add manual payment. I still need to add amount, then decide if VAT is required, then "add item", then go to basket, then decide how many items I charge for, then ask the customer to insert card. Before update to my Note 2, I added an amount and then asked the customer to insert card - easy. There is NO area on the app which just allows this - on the Samsung Note 2 you MUST decide what VAT to charge then add item to your basket. Sorry, still 1 star at present but glad you replied to review.
Does a good job Works great apart from the odd time the card reader doesn't want to connect via Bluetooth so have to mess around with it.
