Economizer tracks your gas consumption in real time — instant and average MPG, per-trip and per-day statistics. For accurate results, enter your engine displacement and volumetric efficiency (default: 80%). Requires MAF or MAP+IAT+RPM parameters to be supported by your car.

🔐 Why we need permissions

Every permission inCarDoc requests is essential for the app to work properly:

• Device & app history. Keeps the app running reliably in the background;
• Location. Enables GPS speed, altitude, and location-based service search;
• Photos / Media / Files. Saves your Logbook entries and diagnostic data locally;
• Bluetooth & WiFi. Connects to your OBD2 scanner and syncs Logbook to the web.

⚠️ Important: adapter compatibility

Some cheap ELM327 clones (often labeled v2.1) may cause connection issues. If you experience problems, please contact us by email with your adapter name, MAC address, ELM327 firmware version and a connection log — this helps us build a public list of problematic adapters and protect other users.

Ratings and reviews

It's a nice app so far, connects easily to the adapter, and I was able to view the trouble codes. The pdf generation crashes the app and doesn't work, and I can find where the saved info is from the diagnostic screen. I clicked save, and it said it was saved, but where? I think that's a big downside for an OBD2 app but I appreciate that it is free and would buy it if those issues are fixed and I get more into wrenching in the future.

(Edit: I've decided to buy pro ver) I question most of the bad reviews here. Just READ the description, & any in-app guides to familiarize yourself with how it works. You'll know of possible issues that may arise & why it may be happening. If you don't have patience 2 read, it's a YOU problem, not an app problem. I've used free version for 5 years with multiple cars & 2 different generic Bluetooth OBD2 adapters with no issues, it just works. I keep one plugged in at all times. Thanks Developer

I have always promoted this app until now. Requiring your location is an absolute unnecessary permission for an OBD2 reader. I can accept needing nearby devices, but when I deny access to my location it will not connect the Bluetooth device. Clear storage and do the exact same setup with location allowed and it works. I have used this for years and hope the developers can resolve this requirement. Oddly enough, when I tried some other readers, they did not require location permissions.
