On our app you can:

• see ongoing updates in your notifications tray and lock screen  
• use our built-in Terminal guide and airport maps to find your gate and navigate the airport with ease 
• watch movies, play games and pay for inflight snacks and drinks while you’re in the air 
• enroll in MileagePlus or manage your MileagePlus account and use your miles to book award travel in our app 
• use high-speed inflight Wi-Fi enabled by Starlink which is now available on select flights, free for MileagePlus members 
• talk, text or video chat with an agent if you have any questions

Ratings and reviews

there's nothing wrong with the app. I actually like the app and how easy it is to use. the one star is for the notifications every damn minute. 30 mins to boarding. 29 mins to boarding. 28 mins to boarding. 26 mins to boarding. etc... etc... just chill with the barrage of notifications. 30. 15. 5. Boarding. That's all, and even that is debatable too many.

The app is well made. Some tactics it implements are shameful. For example the prominent "complimentary economy plus" bar. You try. It's for pay. It's a lie. You click it and the small letters say "complimentary economy plus at check in." So you wait for check in and economy plus is still for pay. You go back to this bar and then you see oh it actually says "may be available" so united just didn't feel like making it available. Maybe they will in an hour maybe they won't. shameful scalping.

In app check-in should be a smooth process. Instead, it's full of upsells and misdirection. Checking in a bag you already paid for when booking is very confusing. And in the end, it says to drop it off at the kiosk, but doesn't say what that means (I presume I still need to go to the self service kiosk first to print the tag, so this entire exercise in the app is to help United, not the customer, so make it *simple and clear*).
