Ads are incredibly intrusive (my complaint is NOT with their presence) and time consuming, especially if you're in a hurry, which, for the value added, is definitely not worth it. Route planning is limited, especially for the uninitiated. You can't simply put in a street address as the arrival location & have it find the best station options. You have to name the actual station. There are other apps with a free option, which are actually usable, even with ads & which have more functionality

When I first moved to the city, this app was a PDF map of the subway. It was incredibly useful and I depended on it. When you are panicking about which station you're supposed to be getting off at, the worst thing to happen to you is your map of New York city blipping to an ad. A picture would do you better than this app. Google will do your time better. MyMTA app is the real deal. This app is useless

Paid to unlock all the features and avoid frustration of the ads...Definitely not worth it!!! Caused us great difficulty navigating subways!!! Didn't adjust for maintenance/construction /delays/and peak hours versus off peak hours... Finally ditched the app and used Google maps for free and navigated subways without a glitch!!! Just wish we had done that sooner and avoided the headache!!! Almost cost us the $$ for a guided tour and did cost of for the Uber to get us back on track!!!
