Ratings and reviews

This app has continued to only degrade in performance, accuracy, and usability over the years. Routes are becoming more unoptimized and less accurate. The app itself is slow to respond, and has an annoying "feature" (?) Where it keeps running after arriving at my destination forcing me to have to tap the "X" to close it every time I go somewhere. Used to be the go-to option for driving, now I am looking for a replacement.

I love Google maps, I'd be lost without it. Recently though, I've had an issue where the Maps screen takes over my phone. I can't minimize it or switch to any other app. I can't get back to my home screen. I tried to hard reset my phone by long-pressing the power button it took that functionality away too. Eventually I figured out how to restart my phone but I'm hesitant to use the app again because trying to fix that issue while driving is dangerous.

I really love the Google Maps app cause it's been very accurate for helping me to get to a destination that I'm not familiar with. It gives very precise directions on how and the best way to go to get to my destination. If I didn't use Google Maps for directions to my destination I would literally get lost in no time, especially in a strange town or city an even in the country side!!!!!!!!!!
