App doesnt work, until i tried moving the phone closer to the unit at activation. My chromecast was found directly. Then it worked perfectly!

This app really is broken. Google Home now redirects to this app when trying to set up my Riva speaker and it just throws an error message every time whereas the earlier version of the Google Home app did the job perfectly. I don't know what to do here...

Activation fails on Pixel 6, works on older Android devices. Why is this app even needed? Connecting a Chromecast used to be like three "next" taps in the home app. Now you need to download this app, disable wifi, connect to the Chromecast peer network, and it still fails to activate the Chromecast. Helping an older relative used to be like a 5 minute phone call, including pleasantries, now it's like a 30 minute one, with video, and it's not even guaranteed to work.
