Dreadful. Junked a perfectly good Chromecast, as everyone else has also found. Turning WiFi back on just before it tries to connect (as suggested by other reviews) hasn't worked for me. I don't see the 'start' button referred to in those contexts. However if you have a Chromebook, I found that the Home app on that OS still runs in the old-fashioned way without a need for this app. So I managed to get mine back working that way...

Pretty terrible, but...! Really struggled to get a 1st gen Chromecast to connect to a new network; I went through the process four or five times with no luck - completely unable to connect the CC to the WiFi. So, the app is pretty rubbish, BUT if you do have a 1st gen Chromecast, make sure you factory reset it first (if you're trying to connect to a different WiFi), by holding down the button on the device for 25 seconds. It should connect through Device Utility after that.

The App does work, please read. I found a review from Luke, who said he found a way for it to work and sure enough it worked first time trying his method. The app tells you to turn off the WiFi. Then it finds the device but won't connect to it. However once it has found the device, before you press start, turn your WiFi back on. Literally worked first time for me. Just repeating Luke to spread awareness. Thank you Luke.
