Ratings and reviews

leaves a lot to be desired. Conversation mode is horribly unreliable, even with language downloaded. You can put one phrase in and translate it, and put the exact same phrase in again and get a different translation. The photo translation is most useful part, but same thing - same picture two separate times and you get two different translations. Really wish they'd improve it because it's been pretty bad for awhile now. Google lives abandoning projects so not holding my breath.

Beta functionality like "practice" is a good direction! For many years, I thought about this. But I am really confused why practicing the English language is not available. I think even native English speakers can practice English. I would love to have a way to practice my saved English words (not useless or stupid words that many English-learning-apps force you to learn — but my own!). I hope you got the idea.

I used to use this app all time on my iphone, and I recently switched to android and one thing is really annoying. The (new translation) button that used to be on the iPhone is not there anymore. when clicked, it empties the current translation and starts a new one. Simple as that. However, my Samsung S25 ultra doesn't have it. Since the phone has a huge screen, it is frustrating to reach to the top left corner to hit the X icon every single translation please fix this.
