I installed Android System WebView Canary mainly to test how a couple of apps I use handle in-app web pages and login screens. It’s not the kind of app you open directly every day, but after switching to the Canary WebView, embedded pages loaded smoothly in the apps I checked. I also like that it updates frequently, which is useful if you want to catch WebView issues early. Definitely more for testing or advanced users than casual use, but it has worked well for my needs so far.

The reason I decided to download this is to improve the functionality of Chrome canary. I have this WebView Canary working in tandem with Chrome Canary. When I choose to use Chrome by itself I change the WebView as well. I don't believe in incompatibility metrics. I choose the practical. I avoid the use of incompatible browsers and WebView versions. I have rated and reviewed Chrome Canary as well as Android System WebView Canary.

Great diagnostic tool for testing and development. I swapped over to this version in my phone's developer settings to test how some embedded in-app browser pages and login screens handle upcoming Chromium changes. The daily updates are perfect for catching rendering bugs early. It can occasionally be a bit unstable, but that's exactly what you expect from a Canary build definitely a solid resource for advanced users.
