If you opt in to the Gemini app, it will replace your Google Assistant as the primary assistant on the phone. Some Google Assistant voice features aren't available through the Gemini app yet. You can switch back to Google Assistant in settings.

Ratings and reviews

For me the app closes on its own randomly, and it's really frustrating because I'm always typing my text, then it closes, and I lose everything I've written and was going to send. It wastes my time. And also it has a really small limit for free users, you can't get a detailed explanation in what you need because it's gonna run out before you do, and then you won't be able to generate pictures anymore to get the explanation you've been looking for.

if you are purposely crashing the app because you believe the AI is starting to hallucinate then just say so instead of making crash for what appears like no reason! I have ADHD so being interrupted mid thought is not okay! it's infuriating when I completely forgot what I wanted to ask when it crashes on me when I'm in the middle of typing!! this is a HUGE accessibility issue!

Okay as of 6/17/2026 I dont know what to say, its just trash at the moment. It basically forgets everything, and for us rpers. It flags everythin and anythin, if I make a fight scene I just get terribly flagged. If I make a character sad for the overall plot and it makes sense flagged. It just doesnt make any sense I just hate it. In the past I was able too make fight scenes. I dont even do gore at all- I know not alot of ppl use this for rping, but this still applies too me personally.
