Ratings and reviews

While the translater has great features I find it keeps crashing while in conversation mode. Sometimes it works a few seconds other times it works for a few minutes. The results and translation in this mode are also inconsistent. I'm using a Google Pixel as well so it seems unacceptable as this is a Google product. Hopefully the bugs will be sorted soon.

...In the past, I could copy text in any app and it would pop up a floating Google Translate button. Touching the button would translate text. Now, copying text no longer evokes the button. I can't seem to fix this in the Google Translate settings, no combination works. "Tap to Translate is on" and always has been (for a long time). There is a separate setting, "show floating icon," but if I turn it on, the icon is there ALL THE TIME whether I want to translate or not...& the text I've copied..

I loved the older, more complicated version. The new one is too simplistic. For example, I used this app to translate Far Eastern languages such as Chinese, and Japanese. The older version would display how to pronounce the eastern scripts in English in addition to translating them. That was a very neat feature that can help people learn not only new languages and scripts, but also how to pronounce and remember them. Removing that feature was a huge mistake and an oversight. Now I hate this app
