Three stars because it seems to work, but the interface is not good. It'd be considerably better if it integrated the camera to help you figure out where you're pointing the thermometer and whether you're close enough to the target. With the Tensor CPU, it'd even be possible for the camera to detect objects and automatically set/suggest material types for them.

Would like a "tap to start measuring" for a continuous reading along with a min/max. It works ok on hobby electronics projects, but it's cumbersome to keep tapping while hunting for hot spots. It's like the hardware and app were specifically designed in 2021 for single readings on a much larger and more uniform surface... like a human forehead...

Not even considering how the sensor itself is less than useful - the app itself is extremely poor. Tap to take a measurement, shows the temperature, take again brings you back to the "take a measurement" and you have to press the button again. Please add a continuous mode, do something exciting or even better unlock the sensor so other more competent and creative people can write apps to use it.
