Pin your most-used devices, automations and actions to the Favourites tab for easy access straight away when you open the app. View your Nest cameras and doorbell live feeds, and scan through event history easily. Set up and manage routines in the Automations tab. And quickly edit any permissions in the consolidated Settings tab.

Edit: Thanks for the help! Working as it should now. I like having a Central App to handle my smart devices. The app has been working great but recently video event are being captured but I am unable to view them without downloading the event (which only takes a few seconds to download). I'm looking forward to an update to the app that addresses this issue.

Just got a 4th gen Nest thermostat to replace a failing 3rd Gen. The 4th gen requires the Google Home app. I cannot believe the difficulty of just trying to have the thermostat automatically switch to ECO mode when no movement occurs. It was simplicity to adjust temperatures and switch modes. Google, you surely missed the boat. I miss the Nest app.

The state management of this app is awful. You can set the temperature, see it get set... you'll even close the app because the UI tells you you're done and changes are done. You'll have to come back to the app every time to change it again. The video cameras and service are unreliable. Google also lost my security videos for the past 4th of July when I needed them for the police. Due to this I dropped nest subscription and will drop google home as I phase out their products in my home.
