Pin your most-used devices, automations, and actions to the Favorites tab for easy access right when you open the app. View your Nest cameras and doorbell live feeds, and easily scan through event history. Set up and manage Routines in the Automations tab. And quickly edit any permissions in the consolidated Settings tab.

Ratings and reviews

It needs work, plus, it seems to be failing at basic tasks more and more. Home devices are getting confused and refuse to turn on or off the things I ask for. What used to work fine now tells me it's not connected, can't be found, or it just the wrong one. The app is unintuitive and way too many steps to make changes (if you can) and reorganizing or changing your home is an overly complicated process. It's easier just to delete it and start over.

Much worse than Nest. I tried transferring one of my outdoor cameras over to see how well it works since we'll eventually have to migrate. the camera now has difficulty connecting constantly. The app is laggy with unintuitive camera controls and scrolling. Absolutely terrible. It's mind-blowing that a billion dollar company's app can't even compare to the original Nest app.

I've been a Google Smart Home user since it first launched. I loved the idea of my own little "smart" assistant. However, as time went on it seemed that technological advances were everywhere except in Google Home (we have 5 devices throughout the home) I kept waiting for advancements that never came. I stayed with it though because at least its a great alarm system. Something changed recently and it no longer accepts 2 commands at once. Very frustrating as that was the feature I loved the most.
