Ratings and reviews

I gave the Google Home app 5 stars in 2014 for its routines. Now, they've been unsupported for a year. Are they returning? I'm in the market for a smoke and CO detector. Is Nest Protect a good investment, or is it being sunset too? The app is missing key features. It doesn't capture sounds like barks as events, and you can't schedule notifications for specific times. Sound filtering options are there but don't work - events aren't captured. This leads to a frustrating user experience.

Best feature of this app was being able to use the device control on my Samsung phone. Being able to just swipe down and tap on device control to instantly have control. This made it simple and easy to operate all the smart devices on the Google "home" which streamlined the whole process. I'm not sure if this was an intentional move or just a glitch but I could sure use it back please. All the other features work great as far as I'm concerned.

I have been using the home app with Smart bulbs in my house for a couple of years. At first everything worked perfect. I had no problems. In the last 6 months or so I have lights randomly going offline only to work the next day and another one goes offline. I have cleared everything and restarted the installation multiple times only to have the same problem. I expected things to improve over time not get worse. Very disappointing. I would advise using Alexa instead of google home app
