About this app

App information
Designed for enterprises that need to protect sensitive work data, Knox Separated Apps allows IT admins to separate third-party apps from corporate apps on fully managed devices.
“"IT admins use Separated Apps to isolate apps on managed devices. This app isn’t intended for personal use."

How it works
- After an enterprise IT admin installs work apps on fully managed devices through a UEM, they can enable Separated Apps and select certain apps to install in the secure, separate area.
- By default, the following apps are available in the Separated Apps area.
.Google Chrome
.Microsoft Office (depending on the device model)
.Samsung Calendar
.Samsung Camera
.Samsung Gallery
.Samsung MyFiles
.Samsung Video

For more details, see the Knox SDK documentation.

The following permissions are required for the app service. For optional
permissions, the default functionality of the service is turned on, but not allowed.

If you want results on issues like this, get the media involved. Start with local news outlets if you have to. Like most people on here, I stumbled on this while performing updates to my Galaxy S23 Ultra. This isn't something I was ever notified about and as soon as I saw it on the update list, I stopped it and unchecked the box for automatic updates for it. Seriously... someone needs to get media involved....

Love useless apps that are geared towards things the average consumer doesn't need or use? Here ya go! One steaming pile of wasted space(yes its "small" but thats not the point) and another reminder that we as consumers don't own anything and need to "like it".

I've heard/read so many differing opinions what this app does, no two theories concur! 😕 It seems we have to have an app for everything.... Not sure what to make of this app. I used to love tech, but these days, and AI even more so, is becoming too invasive. I'm feeling my life is becoming more ruled by tech & and that fake world, "AI". Even worse, these apps often sneak in by the back door, usually operating system updates. Am I better off? Highly unlikely.
