The app offers 0 customisation, which wouldn't be an issue if the defaults weren't completely useless. The first row were YouTube recommendations, and when I uninstalled YouTube, it turned into Moonlight recommendations, which saves me 2 clicks in Moonlight, but also makes me do 2 extra clicks to open any other app. It also doesn't allow hiding apps (like TCL shovelware) and doesn't even show all installed apps, and makes you go through some special UI to use some Google apps.

Shop menu was already about advertising. But that alone was not too bad. This most recent update, however, introduced the completely useless Discover menu and a carousel that shamelessly and needlessly advertises Google products while taking up a good third of my homescreen is an insult. Especially said homescreen is already less responsive and less customizable as it is supposed to be. They keep doing this, and people will have no choice but to stay away from Android TVs.
