The Scotiabank mobile app lets you manage, move, and monitor your money using your mobile phone.


When you use Scotiabank’s mobile deposit feature, we will access your device camera to take a picture of your cheque; record the cheque number, account number, institution transit number, and amount; record your device model, as well as its iOS version and manufacturer.


When you download or update this app, or when you apply for, enrol in, or use a service through mobile banking, we may collect information about your computer or device, operating system, internet connection or telephone account, settings, IP address and device locational data, and transaction data, as well as personal information.

Missing the ability to setup auto pay of credit card balances with a bank account outside of Scotiabank. I get that it encourages opening a bank account but I think it ruins the credit cards value due to the extremely inconvenient nature of paying balances in full. Missing a very standard feature hurts the app for credit card customers. I almost want to close my card due to this lack of feature.

Opened a new customer account with Scotiabank, completely unable to access the account due to the app not being able to activate 2SV properly and getting stuck in an activate/deactivate loop where it keeps asking you to turn it on and off. If this lasts much longer, will end up not activating the account as this kind of reliability issue with access to my own account is very concerning.

The app is not stable and lacks features that other issuers offer. My primary use of Scotia is for the credit card, and it would be difficult to consider over anyone else. There is room for a lot of improvement to enrich the customer journey. Either the business side needs to align on the approach or work with their current vendor TSYS or seek another reputable processor to resolve for these challenges.
