About this app

Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in.
This means that in addition to your password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone.

The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone, even if you don't have a network or cellular connection.

* Sync your Authenticator codes to your Google Account and across your devices. This way, you can always access them even if you lose your phone.
* Set up your Authenticator accounts automatically with a QR code. This is quick and easy, and it helps to ensure that your codes are set up correctly.
* Support for multiple accounts. You can use the Authenticator app to manage multiple accounts, so you don't have to switch between apps every time you need to sign in.
* Support for time-based and counter-based code generation. You can choose the type of code generation that best suits your needs.
* Transfer accounts between devices with a QR code. This is a convenient way to move your accounts to a new device.
* To use Google Authenticator with Google, you need to enable 2-Step Verification on your Google Account. To get started visit http://www.google.com/2step

Okay, not sure why it changed, but I went to use the app and now I can no longer tap and hold to copy the code to my clipboard. I mean, sure it's great that I can now rename and change the order of all of my accounts, but I have a huge problem with remembering numbers and now that one basic accessibility option is no longer available and it can take two or three tries and retries for me to get it right! Bring back that accessibility feature and I'll up the rating!

**UPDATE** I was pleased to hear that the syncing is now coming to this app, but from I hear the syncing isn't end-to-end encrypted. Is this true and if so will it be? - Still, even now with the pixel 6, and the generations of phones that came before it, there is still no cloud backup for this app?! I almost made the mistake of NOT exporting my codes. Other solutions at least give you the option to periodically backup to the cloud - I'm just blown away that this isn't a capability for this app.

My previous Android phone randomly died one day and wouldn't turn back on, so I lost my account and any way to log in to multiple apps. There is no way to import an existing account without scanning the QR code from the original device. If the device won't even turn on, it clearly can't provide a QR code to scan. This is completely ridiculous, and I can't believe even with all the complaints that there is still seemingly no workaround for this issue.
