Pin your most-used devices, automations, and actions to the Favorites tab for easy access right when you open the app. View your Nest cameras and doorbell live feeds, and easily scan through event history. Set up and manage Routines in the Automations tab. And quickly edit any permissions in the consolidated Settings tab.

--- Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) The Google Home app is okay overall, but not great. I use it to control a few smart devices, and when it works, it's actually pretty convenient. But it can be frustrating—sometimes it lags or disconnects for no reason, and that's annoying when you just want things to work smoothly. The layout isn’t super intuitive either; it could definitely be simplified. As someone who’s into tech and likes things to run efficiently, it need more polish and stability.

I can never connect a device in one go. There's always an issue in some connection step. Any troubleshooting is a pain to go through and not easy to follow. I dread everytime I have to open the app to connect a new device. You should also be able to ignore devices found if they aren't yours. I shouldn't have to skip over the device a neighbor has over and over to just try to find the one I'm trying to set up.

Don't change wireless! We have been working ALL WEEK on fixing the setup, because we had to change routers. The process is infuriating and there is no help available! Still can't get all the Google devices to work consistently. Considering dumping the entire Google system for Amazon products. Update: they will respond with a link that is zero help. Rumor has it they are moving everything to Gemini, so fixing nothing. Do yourself a favor and return all Google products before you set anything up!
