Google Messages is the official Google app for messaging over Rich Communication Services (RCS) with fallback to SMS/MMS. I don't like the way it is set up. I went back to my Samsung messaging system because my pinned contacts were separated and stayed at the top while all others scroll under it. Although I find the option to "like" a message a positive attribute, I can't change the color of the background from white to black, which I prefer. In addition, the notification only says "message". I like being able to change the notification sound for specific people and see who is messaging.

This app is okay. Sometimes, I wonder why some apps don't add fun features available on comparable apps. For example, the use of voice messaging should be unlimited time, and shouldn't time out when the screen does (whether you're recording or listening). The option to change the chat color should be available (I think it once was). Also, deleted messages should be retrievable for at least 30 day (it's google, why not 90 days?). Ah, font style adjusts would be nice. I have more ideas (No space).

*EDIT* The sound of sending msgs was patched, yay. Sometimes RCS messages have a hard time getting through for seemingly no reason, with people using the same app on the other side. *ORIGINAL* I wish I didn't have to hear a sound when sending messages, while still having sound for incoming messages. Otherwise it's very thorough. The options with RCS are great. It even accepts incoming iPhone reactions correctly.
