App updates and is installing foreign files to phone although I press "dont copy" on the set up page and not using an old phone. My phone is being hacked into during the time the phone has all connections(wifi, bluetooth)"open" during the bootup phase. It lags a long time before it gets to the option to choose a network for setup and most times doesnt recognize my SIM card or network that came with my phone (Safelink, verizon setup).

Failed to transfer call history and SMS to new phone, even though it said it had. After several resets & retries, I gave up and downloaded another app that worked beautifully. Turns out this one only works if your old phone is Android 9 or newer, but there's no warning of that onscreen. Very frustrating as I could see the Android backup of my old phone in Drive but it was completely inaccessible.

If your old phone is barely functioning to the point of being barely able to make a phone call and you want to transfer all your stuff from it to a new phone then a cable is the only way to go. However, as recent experience has taught me, the possibility the data being transferred is corrupted is quite likely. Nevertheless, it does it's job well under normal circumstances.
