About this app

Personal Safety is an app that helps you prepare and react in an emergency by quickly connecting you with the help and information you need.

Features

On phones
• Emergency SOS: Get help in an emergency by pressing the power button quickly 5 times or more. Then, your phone can:
\t ◦ Call emergency services or any number you choose
\t ◦ Share your location and critical info with your emergency contacts
\t ◦ Record, back up, and share a video

• Emergency Sharing: Share your real-time location and critical info with your emergency contacts. Also works with Google Assistant.

• Safety Check: Set a check-in timer for your phone to confirm you’re safe. If you don’t respond when the timer runs out, Emergency Sharing automatically starts. Also works with Google Assistant.

• Car crash detection (Pixel phones only): Get help calling emergency services after a car crash. If your Pixel phone detects that you've been in a crash, it can call for help automatically. Not available for all countries, languages, and devices. For availability details, go to g.co/pixel/carcrashdetection.

• Crisis alerts: Get notified about natural disasters and public emergencies near you.

• Medical info and emergency contacts: You can make this info visible when your phone is locked. In supported countries, you can also choose to automatically share this info if you contact emergency services.

On Pixel Watch
• Fall Detection: Your watch can detect a hard fall and call for help.

• Emergency SOS: Press the crown quickly 5 times or more to call emergency services or an emergency contact.

• Emergency Sharing, Safety Check, medical info, and emergency contacts are also available on Pixel Watch.

Safety seems to be a pretext for Google to collect full names with clear face pictures. If Google really cared about the Personal Safety of users, they would not automatically use the name and profile picture from the Google Account. So much for sensitive medical "info is saved only on your device". For those who refuse to give Google more personal data, emergency personal won't be able to identify them by name or picture through their phone.

Constantly restarting and contacting my emergency contacts and police department. I can't use my phone except maybe 15 seconds at a time before it shuts off and restartd. [REPLY TO RESPONSE]: I've done that and it still messes up. I've disabled, force stopped, removed all contacts since it was contacting them and '911' I've even done a FACTORY RESET! At this time this app is still restarting and dropping my calls. I replied to the email using the separate email address you offered, no response

Hi Chevonne. It is possible that the Emergency SOS feature is unintentionally triggering this behavior. You can configure your Emergency SOS settings by adding a touch & hold confirmation step before an emergency action starts. Follow the Choose how to start your Emergency SOS instructions here: https://goo.gle/3PBRkjf. Thanks.

I turned off the emergency number dialling by pressing power button. But the phone and the app does not seem to understand that, and keeps dialling emergency nonetheless. That way, one day will come when the emergency number will blacklist me, and will not be able to call in case of real emergency. Solve this please
