The Google One app lets you automatically back up your phone and manage your Google cloud storage. • Automatically back up the important things on your phone, like photos, contacts and messages using your free 15 GB of storage that comes with every Google account. If you break, lose or upgrade your phone, you can restore everything to your new Android device. • Manage your existing Google account storage across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos.
Upgrade to a Google One membership to get even more: • Get as much storage as you need for your important memories, projects and digital files. Choose the plan that works best for you. • Get extra protection for your phone with a VPN that encrypts your online activity and helps keep your personal information safe • Get exclusive access to Google experts for help with all of Google’s products and services. If you have a question or need assistance, our team of Google experts is just a tap away. • Share your storage with up to 5 additional people. This gives each person access to more storage from your plan, but not access to each other’s files.

I quite enjoy this app, it's easy to navigate. So I've been seeing a lot of comments Left Behind of people saying that it turns off your data service? So far I have had no issues with that, I assume maybe it has to do with specific phone service carriers. Regardless I think the app is easy to navigate and it's definitely helpful.

Only issue now is the VPN. It doesn't work very long and will eventually cause you to have no data connection. Disabling it and re-enabling will resolve for short time. I've sent feedback through the app but have heard no response back from Google. I've also had issues in the past with backing up, but when I moved to my Pixel 7 from a 4XL everything did work as expected. Crossing fingers Google can get the VPN issue fixed.

Shuts down all cellular access. You must snooz it to get data connectivity back. Once you have data back up and running you can unsooz it. It will stop you from streaming Amazon Music and will cause the app to freeze up. Constantly interferes with GPS and ride share programs. It keeps your phone safe though by shutting down all data.
