I love how the voice to text is integrated into this keyboard. Its better integrated than any other one out there. Almost makes typing completely unnecessary. Would be nice to have a thumb keyboard layout. Also sometimes when I want to send a gif they won't load. Being able to delete entire words at a time would also be nice. There's room for improvement but imo this is one of the best out there.
It's good for the most part but the personal dictionary has GOT TO WORK! I don't want to have to manually go in there, copy a word or custom ascii emoji, and paste in into the text box where I want it to go! So TLDR, the personal dictionary shortcuts just don't work... You're gonna have to either do what I just described or force update the dictionary for it to work. Ideally the dictionary should be working all the time consistently.
Gboard has come a long way in the last two years, going from a basic keyboard with a few bells and whistles, to one of the best keyboards available on Android. It's snappy, clean, tons of options, and very customizable. The only feature I wish to see one day is the option to see NSFW gifs. It's kind of a bummer that Google has the option to disable the "SafeSearch" filters on it's apps, but not on it's Keyboard.
I downloaded this app last week and it was awesome...all features worked beautifully and I was super stoked about the ease of clicking on the bitmoji function and inserting an image. Randomly this week, that feature had disappeared and I can't add it back. I've uninstalled and re-installed the app... No luck. One additional request to make this perfect, after fixing the bitmoji glitch, would be to add a button to highlight the entire word to correct it. (Take note from the Swype app). It's a fantastic feature. I'll hold out for an update, so please don't disappoint. I lived this app prior to bitmoji disappearing... Then you'll be back to 5 stars!
Best Android keyboard by far. Gluide typing is very intuitive and has put any other keyboard I have used to shame. The features like built-in Google translate, GIF search, etc are also very useful. It is very customizable as well. My main problem with it is that it does not remember email addresses, so you have to manually add them as a shortcut, and, even if you do, the shortcut is not always available when logging into an app. Other than that, it is great, and I still use it over the default Samsung keyboard.
I like the navigation options with space bar and full multiple word backspace but I don't use search that much as I thought I would. What really behaves quite bad is word prediction! I got German and English active and often it would suggest corrections from the secondary language when I'm actually writing the primary set language... that there are always only a max of three corrections available to choose from doesn't help the case!
