Ratings and reviews

This app has gotten terrible by trying to be too cute. Often doesn't recognize the actual language of the message it should translate. Translates to a language you don't want. Hard to find default settings (if they exist) to correct those and hard to correct them quickly manually. Is not nearly as easy to use as the web version. Another instance where Google is rushing out software without decent QA. Shame!

Works well for me. I used it to translate Spanish to English & it must've been correct most of the time because who I was talking to never mentioned about anything being out of sorts or whatever. Would be great to see a copy & paste option instead of always having to type everything in manually, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall it's very good at what it does & it's totally free, unlike many other apps of this type... 👍🏻😁

It's awesome we can have coarse translations, and a real-time camera view of text. However, more features to provide different possible translations (with context and explanation of what the differences are) would be nice. I also don't think the average person understands that not all languages have the same grammar and words for things, so a brief instruction when new users start the app would make our society more understanding.
