Getting better. In the "schedule/ agenda" mode having Maps as background for an event washes out any color and makes it overly busy looking. Give us an option to choose map vs. standard color/background. Add ability to duplicate/copy events! (Thanks for listening, 3/22/18)
I love the app but the most useful part doesn't seem to work for me, which is the events/reminders. One, I wish they had more features such as being to make it busy, free, or tentative, so I can schedule things better. Maybe a bill mode? Like birthdays have their own category, a bill mode would be nice. But if I go and add an event, it works for the day, but if I extend it out, it hardly works. It will either not put but like 2 events in the future and no more even though I specify it. Also if I make a change and tell it to change all, it will only change then one or a couple, the rest are still different. The reason I keep using it is because it syncs with my Gmail and all the invites and things I have stored in it. Please fix this Google!
Using the widget preinstalled onto my phone. Pathetic amount of layouts that all don't work for me. Sends me an email every godforsaken time I have my work schedule down and I have not found the option to turn that off by default. Have to go to the desktop version within my Google account to set any settings. This has been nothing but pure frustration and I only installed the app version so I could review. I want to see my schedule day by day right when I open my phone but looks like I'll have to settle for a proper app because it's not worth all of this bullcrap.
Awful widget. And not just awful UI, but outdated, like it was 2007. And that shiny white background, just awful. Innovation anyone, Google? Every time you update it's worse. Every time you're removing good options and bring awful one. All your apps.
Reminders don't work roughly 50% of the time. Not sure what the cause is, but important events I put a reminder the day before and a few hours before. Either they both work fine, or neither do, and the latter is the more common.
I can't stand Google Calendar. When Google makes changes to their products, they are not interested in what functionality they take away from you. I don't know how many times this is happened to me. I used to maintain multiple calendars under my email account. With this latest update, Google apparently is restricting how many calendars you can use. They decide what calendar to cut out on you based only on the alphabet listing of your calendar names and not by the fact that the one calendar I use the most (which is alphabetically last which is why I lost access to it on my Android phone). If it wasn't for the fact I know about how Google Calendar works, how Chrome Works, how calendar and chrome caching works, how calendar syncing works, and how their desktop site works, I would have lost everything. It still wasn't easy to regain my main calendar and in order to do so, I had to sacrifice a lesser-used calendar. I have no idea why they care whether or not I have three or four calendars nor did they warn people that there was a limit on how many calendars you can have and what you should do to not lose your calendars if you exceed that amount. Stay clear of this app, especially if you are squeamish about troubleshooting.
• Copy and Duplicate - Copy an event from one calendar to another, or duplicate an existing event to use it as a template for a new event.
• Notify guests - Choose whether to email guests when you update an event.
