Hold for Me lets you go back to your day. If a business puts you on hold, Google Assistant can wait on the line for you and let you know when someone is ready to talk.

Call Screen answers unknown callers, filters out detected spammers without interrupting you, and helps you learn more about callers you don’t recognize before you pick up.

Check your messages without needing to call your voicemail – view and play them in any order, read transcriptions, and delete or save them right from the app.

Ratings and reviews

Google phone is interesting. For the most part it's basic features work well but if you want to place calls on hold and answer another call or go to scheduling, it can get a bit quirky. Dropped calls, doing another feature you didn't prompt for, etc. For basic phone calls, Google phone, works great. I guess if a person wants a more sophisticated phone app that does more, smoothly? I would look for a different phone app than Google phone.

The new update is terrible! The new dial pad is much bigger and UI is spread wider apart. While the typing keyboard is smaller and more difficult to type with. An option for changing back to previous settings should be included. Previous version wasn't perfect. But it was much better than this one. I'm tech savvy. I know that the issue is in the updating programming. Restarting my phone won't fix the unwanted update to my phone. I restart it once a week / after updates. Updated rating: -3 ⭐s

I hate the new interface. Missed calls, contacts, non-spam, they might as well be all the same thing because they're just recent calls. Actual Contacts (which I regularly used) now takes twice as long to get to because you have to click "all" and then choose contacts. The old design was elegant and useful (It also showed actual phone numbers when I clicked on the call log so I could see them in addition to the name.) This is half-baked.

What’s new

With our latest update to Call Screen on Pixel devices in the US, the Google Assistant now helps you automatically screen unknown callers and filter out detected robocalls before your phone ever rings. And when it’s not a robocall, your phone rings a few moments later with helpful context about who is calling and why.
