About this app

This is the service that allows use of your Android phone or tablet as a remote for your Android TV. Easily switch between d-pad and touchpad modes to navigate content and play games on your Android TV device. Tap the mic to start a voice search, or use the keyboard to input text on Android TV.

To get started, connect your Android phone or tablet to the same network as your Android TV device or find your Android TV via bluetooth.

Works with all Android TV devices.

There is some confusion, because the old "Android TV Remote" and other 3rd party apps will no longer work once you update this and Gboard. You must use the "Google TV" app as a remote after the update. The new remote is great, although it could use a few small features added to keep the remote connected to the last TV you were connected to, or even better use UWB to auto-connect to the closest Google TV device if the phone has it! The bad reviews on here are all due to this split. I think there should be a new app made with a different appid that continues support for older apps simultaneously with this one to avoid that.

I have five Google TV devices in the house, with four of those in my bar area (I watch a lot of different sports there). Can easily switch from TV to TV and control that particular TV. Volume doesn't work with the TV that has the Bohm sound bar but works on a verity of manufacturers that I have. Use to have four remotes lined up in front of me, but I have put them away and just use my Samsung phone.

This remote service is amazing and very simple. There are no compatibility issues before. But now it's became a garbage. Google should be concerned about this.
