Welcome to Drive Safe & Save, a safety app that can help you save on your State Farm® auto insurance and improve your driving habits.

You’ll get a 10% discount for signing up and completing the setup steps! After the initial participation period, how you drive will determine how much you save—up to 30%.*

The Drive Safe & Save app automatically records your trips and helps you understand your driving habits—what you’re doing well and what could be improved.**

Along your recent trip routes, the app shows you opportunities for safer driving by flagging these events: acceleration, braking, cornering, phone distraction and speed. (Events are opportunities to improve your driving.)

Check the app often to see:

• Your safety scores
• How much you’re saving per enrolled vehicle
• Number of recent trips that included driving events
• Your trip routes from the last 30 days
• Number of recorded trips from the last 14 days
• Opportunities to improve your driving habits
• Number of recorded miles from the last 14 days
• Safe driving tips
• Any vehicles on your policy that are eligible or enrolled in Drive Safe & Save Connected Car

*10% initial discount will apply upon enrollment. Setup is required to keep that discount. After your introductory period, discount for participating customers will vary from 1-50%. Availability and discounts may vary state-to-state (NY capped at 30%). A discount may not be available in NC depending on individual facts and circumstances. Not available in CA, MA, RI.

**After you enroll, we’ll mail you a beacon to place in your vehicle as part of the required setup steps. The beacon works together with the Drive Safe & Save app to accurately record your trips.

Ratings and reviews

It barely gets any more invasive than this app. Notifications have to be on all the time. Physical activity all the time. Precision location all the time. Bluetooth all the time. Nevermind that I drive for a few minutes a day. The app won't let you in at all until their literal checklist is completed. "Your insurance will go up unless you let us spy on you every waking second." This type of forceful submission is disgusting. State Farm is good insurance, but this app tarnishes their reputation.

It stopped recording trips 3 days ago and a good portion of the trips it did record are only partial trips all my Bluetooth, unrestricted battery, location, or permission settings are set, the beacon light lights up after 8 seconds im not sure what the issue is. I hope it doesn't affect my discount. Also if someone else is driving and I'm using my phone for directions or if I'm driving with Waze app on and my phone is awake won't it affect my score. I'm not sure if this is fair.

it's a great app, but there are limitations, it can't tell if you pull over and stop to answer a phone call, and sometimes it says your breaking hard if your coming down a hill to a stop sign. those are the biggest issues that I've noticed and I've been using it for at least 3 years. gets a great discount on your insurance if you can drive within the boundries it sets.

We updated the wording in a few places to give you clearer information about things like:

• When we can’t display your vehicles for technical reasons
• Trip recording in our End User License Agreement

We also fixed an issue that caused the discount card to display inconsistently.
