Classic Rock Indeed I've been buying Classic Rock as a printed magazine since issue 3 until issue 190 and as a digital copy to the present. I went digital as I was having trouble reading the printed copies and to save space. The quality is superb and I have no trouble. On my HTC mobile the magazine shows in a different format to my Samsung tablet. On the former to read a page you scroll down whereas on the tablet the page shows as if you were reading a magazine. It would be nice if you could switch between the formats. I have bought a number of the back issues (which I had as printed copies) and have tried to contact Google (as is they and not Classic Rock who are responsible) to find out whether issues 1 on-wards will be made available to purchase, but you can no longer email them and have to ring.
I am a subscriber but on android it's asking me to subscribe. The new edition has been out for quite a few days and is still not out on android. Another month and the play store still says I am subscribed, but there is a new issue, and I have to pay again, to get it. September and once again, it knows I subscribe but wants me to pay for this issue. I am canceling my subscription. I do still read the magazine; but over a year on, it's still just scanned pdfs and nothing like the Ipad
CR is Great, Newsstand Not So Much I was only a couple of months into a Zinio subscription and CR switched to Google Play without warning or apology and I had to take out a new subscription. Experience isn't as good and I often find when enlarging a page that the image breaks up I don't think the resolution is as I certainly found text has better definition when enlarging. To sum up I'm disappointed with Google Play's handling of magazines through Newsstand. Can't fault the content (5 stars) though I've been getting the magazine itself for over ten years.
Why does Google rip people off? Hey Google, I Learned today that Classic Rock is now only available thru the TEAMROCK app. If this is the case why don't you notify people that NEWSTAND no longer carries this item? And why do you still take a payment for something you no longer offer?
Needs a 10" tablet and a free CD replacement Works OK on a 7" tablet but not quite as smoothly as the Zinio magazines seem to. Beats me how a MUSIC mag can be missing the tracks off the free CD though. Just to rub salt in the wound, there is a pointer to a page with CD details. Go to the page and what do you see? Links to downloads? A bonus article?? No - an extra ad!
Top spec mag Just no more led zep and more lesser bands features on what they are doing now where have they gone and why
