Ratings and reviews

A year and a half on and it's still terrible. I'm not sure what they're improving. You can kind of see the original text (my original complaint) again, but it's still more difficult than it used to be. The app after the addition of lens remains godawful and inconsistent. Sometimes it says it's translating and there's no translation on the screen, but there's no rhyme it reason. It happens enough to make me suspicious that it's giving me accurate translations, based on the little I do know.

Doesn't pick up everything that's said, even though it's said directly into the microphone, which pretty much defeats the purpose. Also, even though someone is speaking another language, it'll sometimes pick up the words in the wrong language even if you select the correct language to translate from. Mostly it shows words spoken in another language as English instead of the selected language so the translation is gibberish.

Works well for me. I used it to translate Spanish to English & it must've been correct most of the time because who I was talking to never mentioned about anything being out of sorts or whatever. Would be great to see a copy & paste option instead of always having to type everything in manually, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall it's very good at what it does & it's totally free, unlike many other apps of this type... 👍🏻😁
