Personalise your home view.
Pin your most-used devices, automations and actions to the Favourites tab for easy access straight away when you open the app. View your Nest cameras and doorbell live feeds, and scan through event history easily. Set up and manage routines in the Automations tab. And quickly edit any permissions in the consolidated Settings tab.

Ratings and reviews

Finally, home screen widgets. However, leaves MUCH to be desired. Firstly, when on dark mode, the widget colors are reversed so all the lights that are on appear off and vice versa. Secondly, you can't adjust the brightness or volume level from the widget. Now, the addition of the watch widget. The implementation isn't great. No labels, just little icons that aren't customizable. So all the lights have the same icon 🤦. In the watch app, scrolling always toggles switches unintentionally.

I have 6 Google home devices spread out over my house controlling lights, TV's, speakers etc... for years they worked very well and I loved my Google smart home. I felt like I was living in 2030. I have no idea what happened but my speakers buzz and click (the newest one) Google won't respond to my voice half the time. When it does respond it's wildly inaccurate. It can't find devices half the time for no apparent reason. It's a buggy mess. It's infuriating and I will be switching platforms.

Update 6/30/24: This app just keeps getting worse. Speaker control is now completely dysfunctional, especially groups. It can't find many speakers, those it can find, refuse to respond to on/off and volume adjustments. I've reset everything to no avail. I'm a software engineer. This is what defective software looks like. Been going on for years.
