EDIT 8/10/26: It appears that the issue of not being able to download/read books resolved itself after a day or two of waiting after purchase. Hopefully that was just a fluke of lag and that it won't happen again as badly as it did this time. (Original Review: Unable to download and read books despite going through all of the troubleshooting protocols. :/ )

I was getting back into an old series favorite so I wanted to read some old ebooks I had purchased as a refresher, but they're suddenly "not available in my region," and there doesn't seem to be a way to switch to the version that IS available in my region without paying for those books a second time. Other than that, I have no issues, but I lost a solid portion of older books that I purchased.

this app simply does not work on Windows based readers/pcs!! Rather worthless. Google simply does not want to service the share of the market that reads books on a PC or a Microsoft Surface (really a great device). I recommend NOT starting your library in Google Books uless you only want to read books on your phone. Ugh, who wants to only read books on the small surface of a phone. Dah. Signed... An extremely frustrated Google user.
