About this app

“Die Techniker” provides its customers with a digital all-purpose tool. For example, you can use this app to upload your receipts for reimbursement, view existing sick notes, or do something for your fitness while collecting bonus points.

SECURITY

As a statutory health insurance company, we are committed to the best possible protection of your health data. That's why we check your identity when setting up TK-App on your smartphone. You can either identify yourself online using your ID card and PIN via the Nect Wallet app or by entering an activation code. We‘ll send you the activation code via post.

Please note: The use od TK-App with rooted devices is not possible for security reasons.

FURTHER DEVELOPMENT

We are continuously adding new features to the TK-App - your ideas and hints help us most. Write us directly and anonymously via the feedback function in the TK-App.

BONUS & TK-Fit

Membership in a football club, regular check-ups at the dentist, the non-smoking course after New Year's Day - all these things earn points for the TK bonus program. And thanks to the connection to Google Fit, Samsung Health or Fitbit, you'll receive points for many other activities.

TK-SAFE

With TK-Safe you have all relevant health data at a glance: Your visits to the doctor, diagnoses, medication, vaccinations, preventative medical checkups and much more.

Please note that TK-Fit and TK-Safe are not available in English yet.

REQUIREMENTS

For the TK-App:
- TK customer
- Android 10 or higher
- Unmodified Android operating system, ie. no Root (For more information, see https://www.tk.de/techniker/2023674)

For TK-Fit:
- Step counting using Google Fit, Samsung Health or Fitbit and your smartphone or a compatible fitness tracker.

Ratings and reviews

For very simple stuff no problem. But sending documents is very difficult. They don't really like PDFs, only JPEGs. English is the only second language option and even then, the English settings are very rudimentary. I still end up having to call and send documents by post. not even email seems to be an option. On the phone they will suggest sending a FAX like it's 1972 or something.

Dear TK I was pretty happy with the app, very informative and useful, with good English language support, but after the last update it doesn't allow me to open it anymore, because of my Android version, it's really sad, because to use it I would need to buy another phone, but everything else works really well on my phone and I don't want to change it, as the TK app is the only app that is not backwards compatible. I hope in the future updates you could implement backwards compatibility.

I have to say, this app has improved a lot over the last few years, to the point where it's really convenient to use. Thanks TK! Also, btw, for having (still limited) English support. What I still don't like at all is the fact that the Selfy-ID process forcess you to download and install a 3rd party App!? If you want to use a 3rd party service for ID that's fine, but just use a browser-base link instead. Adding unnecessary apps to people's phones for a single use case ist not OK.
