Once the child’s iPhone or Android device is paired via the Verizon Smart Family companion app, the parent app can configure parental controls (iPads aren’t currently supported). I got the app and companion app on two children's phones. All paired. Worked well for a couple weeks. Then it didn't work at all. I would get email updates that stated usage and link to the app, but the app showed no activity. One of my children deleted the app and I was not notified. I also got kicked off the app and when I signed in, 2 step authentication went to a number not on my plan. Don't know if I was hacked. Code didn't come to my phone. When I signed back in later, everything was ok.

Can we suggest you open a ticket using the in-app help center? Getting a ticket via the app, provides us with the supporting information like phone number, model, OS etc. You can also check back in the help center for response to your issue. This can be found under the More, Help &support, Send Feedback

Well, I was beginning to think I was losing my mind until I came here, and everything is explained perfectly. This app won't even open. It goes in loops back to the main screen for logging in. I have deleted the app and reloaded several times, and still nothing happens. Where is the old version that at least worked?? I did email Verizon about the issue. It makes it a tad more difficult to set limits on a teenager .. guess I'm going old school and taking the phone all together.

I agree with most others. The new updates are awful, especially the location function. It doesn't show real-time location like it used to. I wish I could go back and use the previous version. If this glitch isn't fixed, I may cancel and look for an alternative app to use. **Update 12/18/23. The location function seems to be getting worse. I'll be looking for a new app after the holidays.

We strongly recommend pairing the child phone with the Smart Family companion app to get a better location. You can also go to https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/verizon-smart-family-faqs/#location for instructions on how to optimize location accuracy. What's new

Along with performance improvements and bug fixes, we’ve:
- Increased the amount of time between required sign-ins
