This app no longer sends SMS messages, only RCS messages. Updated, no better. Developer's advice didn't work. Cache cleared. Message app already default. Left feedback as suggested by Dev, who responded quickly. Not many reasons to stay with Android. I'll keep running apps that rely on Play Store (only 5 of them, 3 Garmin) on an Android phone Everything else I need I get on my Linux phone. I'll run an android phone as a tool to link to those 5 apps. Shame Google keeps breaking it's apps.

it's not terrible, but I do miss Samsung's Messaging app. this one can't be customized, so when I change themes for the holidays, it just stays the same (boring!!) & I've noticed a lot of times, the keyboard will be covering my text box, so I can't see what I'm writing. from a functionality standpoint, it gets the job done, but it could be so much more fun!! I'd love to go back to personalized notification tones & themed backdrops

RCS chats will bungle your life if you have time sensitive messages to send. It will wait for you... and then the recipient!!! to be in Wifi service and range before delivering the message, so if you are trying to say that you are running late to an appointment or organise something, and don't see that it's sending and RCS, do not count on your message being received! It also turns itself on after you disable it, at any update, wether you know that or want it or not!! BIG STEP BACKWARDS IN MSGN!
